Cherishing the Dandelions

We were walking home from the park when we spotted it- a field covered completely in dandelions. Their countless yellow heads stretched across the broad expanse of the grass.

I wanted to get home. Laundry, dishes, the litter box, and numerous other tasks crowded my mind, and stopping to admire the colorful weeds was the last thing deserving of my attention.

Then a little voice called, "Flowers!! Yellow flowers!! Yellow flowers, mama!! Over there!!"

At that point I had a choice. I could be a good, hard working, picture-perfect mother with all her chores accomplished, or I could be a slightly disheveled, messy-housed mom with yellow stains on her skirt.

That day, I chose to cherish the dandelions.

I started this blog as a way to chronicle my adventures with my two precious little girls, Grace and Clara. They are growing so quickly, and I know this time with them will soon be passed. Each moment with them is a blessing, and I hope this blog will encourage you to make the most of your time with friends and family.
